School: Kalani High School

Career: Entrepreneur, Owner of Bikini Bird

At 14 years old, Tiana already knew she wanted to work in the fashion industry. After attending Loyola Marymount, she worked as a sales representative for multiple clothing lines in Southern California and Hawai‘i, such as Billabong and Olukai. In 2010, Tiana moved back home and while still working a full-time job, started a small lifestyle and swimwear blog, BikiniBird.

What started off as her “passion project,” Bikini Bird slowly started to gain traction online. Tiana found herself taking educated risks, using the money she earned from her full-time job to fund Bikini Bird. However, success for Tiana did not happen overnight. Tiana remembers times when she would question whether or not Bikini Bird was worth her time, and she feared that her business would fail. But rather than giving up, Tiana turned that fear into drive.

+ Advice from Tiana Gamble

I've always been scared to not have a job, scared that I'm going to get fired...but if you can use that fear towards something that you love, then it can really help you get to where you want to go.
